What is “Club volleyball”?
Hundreds of thousands of girls each year participate in Junior Olympic  
"Club" (ages 12-18), and Youth (ages 7-12), volleyball programs sponsored by  
USA Volleyball.
GIRLS CLUB (ages 12-18) Girl's Club Season is November-July (following High School Season).Girls TRYOUTS are generally held in November.


Why Should My Daughter Play Club Volleyball & Why Should Jefferson County Juniors Be Your Choice?
This high level of competition enables the than junior high and high school volleyball.  This high level of competition enables the prepared for the school’s program.  Additionally, most collegiate volleyball scholarship athlete to improve as a player,
to develop better fundamental skills, and to be prepared for the school’s program.  Additionally, most collegiate volleyball scholarship that athletes have participated in the club volleyball and most college coaches focus on recruits that have played
competitive club volleyball. Finally, club volleyball offers excellent coaching and instruction.  This instruction is a great supplement to the direction given to the junior athletes and their athletes in the school athletic setting.  Jefferson County Juniors
has a lot to offer interested junior athletes and their parents.  The club is directed by Toni Leach, a respected, mature and professional coach in the area.  Coach Leach has years of experience coaching athletes, running youth volleyball  camps
and assisting athletes in obtaining college athletic main scholarships. She is well rounded, well-grounded, and uses common sense and fairness as main guides in decision-making.  All coaches are selected by the director and each head coach is
experienced, knowledgeable and mature.  The coaches are able to teach sound environments.

Who Operates the Club?
Jefferson County Juniors is operated by the executive director and a board of directors, including a president, secretary, and treasurer.

What Does The Club Pay for?
Club fees pay for the tournament entry fees, uniforms, equipment, hotel cost for coaches, registration fees, referee and scorekeeper clinics, coaches’ salaries, administrative costs, and miscellaneous expenses. However, fees do not pay for any
expenses related to teams that may qualify for post-season and/or out-of-state championship tournaments.

What Kind Of Commitment Will We Need to Give to the Club?
Participation in a quality Junior Olympic Volleyball Program requires a significant amount of time for both athletes and their parents. Practices are held twice weekly, beginning in early November and ending in April. Typically, practices will be
held twice weekly on Monday and Thursday night for a two hour sessions. Competitions are held on weekends, with each team competing an average of twice per month.  Most tournaments are one day events and do not require overnight hotel
stays. Tournaments are usually held on Saturdays, but may sometimes occur on Sunday. Start times for tournaments are around 8:00 am and may last late into the evening. Most qualifier tournaments will be 2-3 day tournaments and only certain
teams will go to those tournaments.

First, you can e-mail Toni Leach at jcjvball2006@yahoo.com and let her know of your interest. Additionally, provide her with your daughter’s name, birth date, address, and contact information.  Coach Leach will respond and will place the
information into an athlete database.


Next, Go to the website at www.jcjvball.com and fill out the paperwork used at tryouts. We must have the player profile form and the medical release form filled out when you come to tryouts. Next, bring your daughter to the tryouts in October.
You will be able to speak to the club director and coaches and have an opportunity for any unanswered questions to be addressed.

Shayna Sheppard an outstanding libero  from
JCJ 18's and Little Cypress - Mauriceville has signed
a volleyball scholarship with
Galveston Junior
College
on  Wednesday, May 6, 2009 to play for
the Whitecaps in their upcoming season. The 3
year letterman was an All-District Libero and owns
her high school record for digs in a season with 432.
 She plans on studying to become a nurse
practitioner.

Lady Demon Volleyball Signs Fruge To 2009 Class

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State volleyball head
coach Brittany Uffelman has announced the signing of three
players to her 2009 signing class – including former  JCJ
alumni Brittany Fruge.

“I’m really excited about this class,” said Uffelman, who will
be beginning her fourth season as head coach this fall and
has guided her teams to three consecutive SLC
Tournament appearances.  “This is by far the best group of
recruits I’ve signed since being here.”

Fruge, out of Port Neches-Groves High School and Panola
College earned first team all-state honors in 2007 as a
senior at PNG as well as being named the District 20-4A
MVP.

At Panola, she earned second team all-conference as a
freshman and first team honors as a sophomore.

“Brittany can jump out of the gym,” said Uffelman.  “She is
an incredible athlete with a tremendous amount of
experience.”

Sonnichsen Adds Signs Goodwin to 2009 Roster

RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech head coach Matt Sonnichsen
announced the addition of four newcomers to the volleyball
roster incoming for this fall including former JCJ alumni
Jennifer Goodwin.

"I am very excited to announce our 2009 incoming players,"
Sonnichsen said.

New to the Techster lineup will be junior Jennifer Goodwin
transferring from Blinn College. Goodwin helped lead
Blinn College to a NJCAA National Championship this
season.

"We needed to increase our depth in the outside hitter and
passing positions for 2009 and beyond," Sonnichsen said.
"Jennifer Goodwin  is a very good outside hitter, who has the
ability to play six rotations and pass the ball very well."

Jennifer Jones an outstanding middle hitter  
from JCJ 18's and Legacy Christian Academy  has
signed a volleyball scholarship with
Lyon College
on  May 26, 2009 to play for the Lyon Pipers in
their upcoming fall season. She will be convert to an
outside or right side hitter for the Pipers.  The
District MVP had the highest hitting average during
her season at Christian Academy.  She plans on
studying to Kinesiology.
